Xbox to iMac

Hey Everyone,

i have searched for this but can only find answers from a few years ago and not sure if the information is still relevant.

i would like to link my Xbox one to my iMac 27” to use as a monitor, I have to queries?

firstly will this ruin or break my monitor/iMac? And secondly what connectors do I need to accomplish this?

The last iMacs that allowed Target Display Mode was we the mid 2014 models, and TDM has always been intended as Mac-to-Mac:
