Thank you for your reply. I thought "private browsing" meant losing my history and having to put in passwords every time I went to a site requiring one.
Also, I had gotten into my settings to change a few things and thought I'd somehow checked something which enabled private browsing.

Unless, you are referring to a different use of the term, Private browsing is built into respective (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) web browsers and cannot be disabled.
Please provide additional detail and context. It is difficult to understand what your issue is or what you are trying to accomplish.
Hello, yes, that is where I went wrong. I thought "private browsing" meant deletion of my history and having to re-set up passwords. Thank you.
