ios update

i have an iphone 6 and i havent gotten any updates for it the latest i have is IOS 12.4.6 i would like to know why and when i got the phone it was damaged

Your phone 6 is not supported by the newer updates so you can’t go higher. IOS 12 is the max it can go sorry.
