Okay, the docs show up in iTunes if I export them while my iPad is docked. I've also been able to export some of them to Word docs as well. Just one particular doc keeps crashing Pages when I try to save it as a Word doc. I guess that means there's something specific in that doc that the convertor doesn't like...
Thanks for the response, David. I pulled in an email attachment that was created in Windows' Word 2003. I edited it, then attempted to export it. It will export as a PDF or a Pages doc with no problem. However, every time I try to export it as a Word doc, the progress bar gets about a quarter of the way, and Pages shuts down.
I thought it might be because of a table in there, so I removed the table and retyped the text from it - but it still crashed. I also tried creating a copy of the doc and exporting the copy (after the table was removed), but Pages shut down once again.
Then I tried exporting it to iWork.com. It brought up the email for me to enter the to/subject, but if I take more than, say, 30 seconds to enter the info, down goes Pages. If I quickly enter the to/subject info and hit 'share', it acts like it's working for a few seconds - then down goes Pages again. The doc never shows up as shared in iWork.com.
I'm pretty sure at this point that it's something specific to this doc - though I haven't tried any other Word docs, so really I guess I can't say. I'll try importing it a different way to see if it works - like maybe bringing it in through iTunes. That should be interesting! I'll also try bringing in some Mac Word 2004 docs to see what happens. I don't happen to have any other Word 2003 docs to check at this point...
To add to this topic: I have a 64 Gb 3G iPad. I have a document that I have written entirely on Pages on this iPad. I have been saving it fine to iWork on a regular basis for backup purposes. This morning, for the first time, saving it to iWork crashes the app and returns me to the home screen. I then tried emailing it and it crashed. I tried exporting it to Word format and it crashed. I turned it off and back on and then followed the reset procedure and it still crashes. It starts by saying "Preparing Files" the bar gets to about 1/4 full and the app crashes. I'd really like to solve this. Any ideas? Thanks
I don't have word. You could remove information in the doc that I don't need to see and then email it to me. I'll import the doc into Pages and then try to export it as a word doc. Click on my name for my email address.
I open the word document in Pages... Exported the resume from Page as a Word, Pages and PDF document with no problems. All the documents open in the email app.
After thinking about it... I went back and made some edits to the word document, still no problems with exporting.
Since I can't send you the one that's on the iPad itself, I guess I'll have to think that the file as it is on my iPad is corrupted somehow. Thanks very much for checking it out, David.
I am experiencing exactly the same problem, I try export the document as word but it gets around a third of thenthe way and crashes. It works for a PDF or Pages but unfortunately not for word. Any idea why?. Please post me a message if you have have solutions.

Same problem, I cannot seem to export and word doc to anything, iTunes, iWork, email, it just crashes every time. If this carries on I'm going to have to buy docs to go 😟. Please help!?
