Firefox not loading after upgrade to Catalina

I've upgraded my iMac (27-inch late 2013) to Catalina 10.15.4 from High Sierra which was running very well. Just wanted to use the Continuity tools for remote teaching.... All apps are now running VERY slowly and Firefox was hanging and now cannot load at all, even in safe mode. What is the best fix? I can't load at all to disable or remove ad-ons etc. What is the best way to uninstall Firefox and reinstall? Any suggestions re speed of apps?

Hey there SandraM5,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re experiencing some performance issues with your Mac and Firefox after upgrading to macOS Catalina. I’ll be happy to help with this.

Before you attempt to update Firefox, go through the following steps to help with the overall performance of your Mac:

  1. Reset the SMC: How to reset the SMC of your Mac
  2. Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac
  3. Run First Aid on Macintosh HD in Recovery: Repair a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac
  4. Delete the app, restart, and reinstall.
  5. Make sure you have plenty of available storage: How to free up storage space on your Mac

Once you’ve done that, see if you can update Firefox using the steps here:
