Facetime - why are some contacts grey and others blue? Only the blue works

FaceTime I cannot remove them black sidebar on my FaceTime and it will not go to the screen where I want to enter a contact. I have deleted all contacts on the sidebar but it is still there.

facetime whenever i facetime one specific contact it will ring for them and say connecting but never connect and the same happens only when this specific contact facetimes me do you know what that is/how to fix

FaceTime unavailable I have everything downloaded but none of my contacts have FaceTime available. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Those contacts would need to have an Apple device and be sign in to facetime.
