Is it telling your that your iPhone is up to date?
Why not? What happens when you try to update?
Do you get an error? If so what does it say?
What model iPhone is it? What are you trying to update to?

Go to Settings > General > About > Model If it showing a number starting with A tap it them post the next model number that appears and post it here.
Also, while you are there tell us what it says under Settings->General->About->Version.
