If the iPad is disabled, you’ll need to follow this procedure:

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204306

You’ll need access to a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder).

I understand, not cool.

Well, you should be able to restore the factory settings with iTunes (or Finder on a Mac running Catalina).

But make sure you turn it off FIRST before you connect it to the computer, connect it WHILE pressing and holding the home button to get into recovery mode. Or, as the HT states:

  1. Make sure that your iPad isn't connected to your computer.
  2. Press and hold the Top button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPad. Then connect your iPad to your computer while holding the Home button. Keep holding the Home button until you see the recovery mode screen.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

(Great job referring to HT204306 (HT221078 is also a very good HT for this issue). FYI: all Macs have Finder (built-in file browser). The difference is, that, since Catalina, iTunes has become Music (music.app) and backup, syncing ad restoring iOS-devices on a Mac running Catalina 10.15 and up will be possible in the Finder.

It will suffice to say one needs access to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed, or a Mac running Catalina 10.15 and up. )
