Captions/subtitles are ON as default in YouTube App iOS 13.4.1 and it cannot be changed.
Even though I have the Accessibility settings in my iPhone 11 (iOS 13.4.1) to NOT SHOW by DEFAULT captions/subtitles the YouTube iPhone app refuses to comply and it insists on showing me subtitles.
- It only happens with the YouTube iPhone app and when I am signed in to my YouTube account in Safari iPhone App or Google iPhone App.
- This happens even though I have my YouTube web settings to NOT SHOW CAPTIONS/SUBTITLES by DEFAULT (both on Safari for Mac and Chrome for Mac).
- Once I've corrected the YouTube setting in the Safari iPhone App or Google iPhone App the videos play without subtitles BUT ONLY in the Safari iPhone App or Google iPhone App; the YouTube iPhone App still SHOWS SUBTITLES/CLOSED CAPTIONS AS DEFAULT
- When I sign out of YouTube in the Safari app for iPhone and then sign back in again to YouTube SUBTITLES/CLOSES CAPTIONS ARE SHOWN AS DEFAULT until I change it again
All other apps that can show subtitles only do so when I make them, otherwise they are not shown by default.
Trying to solve this problem I have already:
- Uninstalled YouTube app
- Restarted my iPhone
- Reinstalled YouTube app
Any ideas on how to solve this?
- Thank you.
