Apple id for iCloud

My email address changed and since I no longer could receive emails from the old address, I had to create a new Apple account. However, when iCloud pops up, it still has my old email address as the id. How can I change it to my new email address and ID?

Have you signed out of the old address in iCloud and then signed in with the new address?
