StartUpHelper notice

I converted an account to a parent controlled one on my MacBook Air running High Sierra 10.13.6. Now I get a continual pop up notice when logged in as that user saying "You don't have permission to use StartUpHelper". Please help!

Well, I've never heard of the program. I have to assume it's a third-party app, perhaps, used in home schooling? Where is the app located? If it's in the Applications folder, then you can install it into an Applications folder created in the account's Home folder. You can also give the account permission to access the app and its support files. However, both of these must be done from the Admin's account.

I converted an account from admin to managed to use it for my daughter and that is when the popups started. It's not that "I" am trying to use StartUpHelper- I don't see it anywhere. The software for the managed user is doing things in the background that must require admin privileges. The popup does give the option of allowing usage once or always, so until I get a solution I will just have to use the admin password to "allow always" StartUpHelper (as well as a few other annoying helpers) to do their thing and hope that it doesn't interfere with parental controls. If you have any useful information that would be great.
