Mac OS keyboard viewer doesn't highlight trackpad taps

This is more annoying than critical as the keyboard viewer still works, but it's harder to tell if a tap has registered. If there isn't a known fix for this now, hopefully it will be addressed in future OS updates.

you can test using an alternate keyboard— eliminate the obvious first.

Of course nobody is fixing bugs in Mojave. The real question is whether anyone has had this problem in Catalina since it was released last October. I haven't seen any reports of it, so maybe it is gone.
