Do I have 1 Apple ID, with one password for every device? Or a different password for each device? And would my iCloud access require a different password depending on which device I sign in or there Apple ID passwords distinct for each account?

I have two different Apple ID passwords, for two different devices. And I have an icloud account that doesn't recognize either password from the devices. Do I establish an Apple ID for each device and account? I had hoped I could use one Apple ID across all my devices and accounts, is this not possible?

Thank you.

You can have a login password for each Mac that is different but there is only one password for each Apple ID.

re: "I ended up using a different login on each one..." I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you mean a second different Apple ID, that is possible. If you mean a different password for the same Apple ID, where did you get the second password from -- you can't have two that are valid at the same time?
