Music notifications not working

I have Apple Music notifications turned on but have never received a single notification.


I also understand there has been an update to Music where you should see a banner in the library section if there is new music from a liked artist.


I know this isn’t working as one of the artists I have saved is Above and Beyond who release an album every week but never have I received anything.


I have checked all of if the notification settings and everything looks correct to me.


Any ideas

It sounds like you're looking for a bit of help with notifications on your iPhone, and you're in a great place to get it. I'll be happy to see how I can help.


When checking the notification settings you mentioned, did you see "Show in Library", and if so, did you enable that if it wasn't already enabled? If not, let's locate that together by opening the Music app, tapping on the For You tab, tapping on your profile picture in the upper right of the screen, tapping Notifications, and make sure that item is toggled on.


Once it is, when a new item is released, test to see if it is working as expected.

Thanks for the offer of help.


Sadly I’ve done that and still no notifications. Never have had them ever since subscribing to Apple Music and I’ve been through 2 decides and numerous resets and setting up as a new device.


I now have to speak to a senior technical support person as they have checked all my settings and it should be working.


Which it isn’t.


And hasn’t

Hey Steven ... just to share. I once asked this question to Apple support and I was told that they very rarely send out Apple Music notifications. Since I’ve been a subscriber (6 years) I’ve received about five such notifications in total. Most of the artists in my library release music without any alerts. And the Apple support guy concurred the same experience. That Apple Music rarely sends notifications.
