password change messed up app

Hi, I recently changed my Facebook password and although I can log in on my mac just fine, the app keeps giving me an error. It says "Login Error An unexpected error occurred, please try logging in again." I've tried deleting the app etc. I can log in on Safari but not the app. Also I can't log on to Messenger at all. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
