I have recently upgraded from the old iPhone 6s to the new se and I was wondering if there was a way to turn on the 3D Touch app switcher (where you hard press the left hand side of the screen and swipe right) I am seriously missing having that feature and desperately want it back, or even something similar in its place,

Yes, 3D Touch was replaced with Haptic Touch on all the latest iPhones. Haptic Touch works the same, it's just software-based now rather than hardware.
