I bought my spouse the 11" new 2020 iPad pro, but he thought it was too small so I am getting him the 12.9" and keeping the smaller one for myself. I would like to get only one magic keyboard. Would the 12.9" work with both sizes?

Short answer - no.
Longer answer - Apple Magic keyboard is size-specific to either the 11” or 12.9” - and have different prices that reflect to difference.
The two iPad models have physically different dimensions. Connections aside, the securing magnets will be in different relative locations
Shoot. Now I have to accidentally order the smaller one, then the bigger one for him. ;-). I was hoping we could share. Does it just not balance or are there internal connectors that are lined up differently?
