Full Disk Access Won't Add Apps Even After Fixing Permissions

Hey guys,

So I recently got a new computer and it's on Mohave. As you probably know, certain apps can't work unless you add it to the Full Disk Access section under Security and Privacy. However, no matter what I add, it won't do anything.

I did the research on here and on Google. I tried adjusting permissions and I did unlock the system preferences and neither seemed to help the situation.

So far I've attempted to follow the directions Onyx and Bitdefender have given me with no luck and I would prefer not to upgrade Mohave if possible because of some app compatibility if possible.

If anyone can give me any input that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Considering my Mac told me that I need to optimize the computer and I’m having issues with my permissions and the one place I’m able to fix it at in the system preferences doesn’t work on a computer that I literally just got last week, I feel like that’s an issue that needs to be addressed whether I currently have an issue or not.

On a brand new Mac you have one-on-one support for any issue in setting up your new Mac. You should have received an email invite for free Online Personal Session setting up your new mac. Take advantage of that.

Optimizing is only needed if you are running short on storage space.

If you have issue out of the box you have 14 days to return the Mac for one that works. If you purchased a new Mac without enough storage space you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for one that suits you better.

Third party apps is no kind of answer on a brand new machine.

Maybe it is a saving grace— I would highly encourage you to not install either Onyx and Bitdefender .

They can cause nothing but issues on the mac

Considering my Mac told me that I need to optimize the computer

There is a notification when you install a new OS that it will begin optimizing for the new OS which will slow things down.

There is also the ability to Optimize storage for various things.

Neither of which are telling you that you need to optimize your Mac.

If it was something else, please describe the message in as much detail as you can remember.
