Water Function

Hi - I have an Apple Series 5 for 6 months. But I've been too scared to wear it in water. Such a lot of money if something goes wrong.

I've been reading that I just need to turn the water enabled function on through the control panel and then turn the digital crown to unlock and clear the water at the end.

Just needing some reassurance and check that the above is ok. Have there been any problems that you've had?

Thanks

Apple Watch Water Resistance

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205000

I do not swim (well I used to in my 20's, even had a water safety instructor certificate), but these days I do not swim, so my Apple Watch's water resistance is just being splashed in the sink or walking in the rain, etc... Accidental water.

The water lock is to basically block out false touches on the screen from water. Turning the Digital Crown is how you tell the Apple Watch to unlock, and it also generates a sound with the speaker to try and eject any water that got into the speaker hole.

Read the above link, and if you feel the need to swim with your Apple Watch, then go for it. If you are still worried, then just take it off, and depend on the water resistance for things like getting caught in the rain, splashing in the sink, watering the lawn, etc...
