If I buy more storage will it stop my phone from crashing?
You should have at least 10% of the total capacity of the iPhone free to make it work smoothly. You may need to restore the device after removing content to make sure that it clears properly. Make sure you have made a backup after you remove content and before you restore the device.
Buying iCloud storage will not provide you more storage on the iPhone. To gain storage on the iPhone, you need to delete content from the iPhone.
