Speaker has gotten quiet

Recently I have noticed an issue with my speakers. The maximum value is extremely soft, when I updated the software in my laptop the speakers seemed to work fine but the next day the problem persisted. I have gone to settings and made sure the volume was the maximum on the slide bar. I'm not too sure what else to do to fix it.

My MacBook Pro speakers have gone very quite even on top volume I've had this laptop for about 4 years and its in fairly good condtions but recently when i am in my online classes i can't hear anything because even on top volume its barely making any sound. My laptop is making sound witch i can hear if im in a compleatly silent room and I have checked my setting and fiddled around with them to se if anything would help but nothing seemed to help. I have tried to google solution and have been unsucssesful in finding any source that could help me. I'm thinking that its just my laptop getting old and if it is then i can't afford to get a new one since im still saving up for other things and in this pandemic it makes things a lot harder as I have all of work being submitted online.
