Yamaha midi driver for High Sierra

Has anyone found a solution to this? After updating to High Sierra 10.13.6, my Yamaha CLP-175 is no longer recognised in Audio midi set-up. When I download the Yamaha driver and install, it is nowhere to be seen. It says it has installed but it hasn't. (Please see previous other posts with the same problem). It's reported that the Yamaha driver recognises Sierra but not High Sierra!. Other posts have reported they have written to Yamaha but had no reply!

Is there a generic driver that will work and stop musicians being held hostage by techs that don't collaborate!

I also saw many posts about Yamaha keyboards and MIDI drivers. Sometime different problems and different solutions. Since I don't know the posts you refer to, I can only speculate.

Which MIDI driver are you trying to install? Are you sure it is the one required for the CLP-175?

High Sierra introduced new security features to be considered when installing "drivers".

Give us more details on what you tried so far.

Hi,

Sorry I couldn't get back before. I now think that I have two things going wrong. Yamaha's last driver is only for Sierra. I had the original Yamaha driver onboard and working but this was 'lost' when updating to High Sierra which doesn't recognise it. I'm also having problems with my audio interface Edirol UA25 which is now not compatible with high Sierra. Since posting I've successfully hooked up a Roland RD64 keyboard which works with OSX 10.13.6 , Edirol and Logic Pro, but Edirol is only visible if 'Advance mode' is switched off. So I think the plan now is to move over to the Roland keyboard and upgrade the audio interface for one that will work with High Sierra. Suggestions welcomed. Thanks.
