Mac Update to Sierra 10.13 creates MAJOR desktop lag

Hi all –

Yesterday I did a Mac software update from 10.12 to MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6.

Everything is running fine except when I screenshot something or save file to the desktop it has about a 10-20 second lag. This is true for dragging something into a folder as well. The file doesn't show up in the folder for about 15 seconds. Very annoying.

If anyone has any suggestions, please help.

That's surprising, I'm running High Sierra on my iMac and I have no such lag. Boot into Safe Mode and test.

Julia S,

You can save us asking dozens of questions by submitting a report...

EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.
