iPhone 11 and MacBookPro can't see each other in Air Drop

My new iPhone 11 says No People Found There is no one nearby to share with while the MacBookPro doesn't see the phone. Both are set to discovered by Everyone; both are on wifi; and bluetooth is on on the phone.
