Thunderbolt Ports are NOT CONNECTED / INACTIVE on MacBook Pro w Touch Bar

HELP! Thunderbolt Ports are NOT CONNECTED / INACTIVE on MacBook Pro w Touch Bar. Where this began, I left an usb-c external ssd drive pugged into my macbook pro w touchbar overnight without macbook being plugged into power. I dont normally leave the external ssd drive plugged in that long and especially without the macbook pro being plugged into power. Just fell asleep. This morning i noticed the green light on the externel ssd drive was not glowing (odd). I also had an ERROR MESSAGE on my macbook telling me to unplug to the usb accessory thar was using too much power. The ssd was not powered up as normally is when plugged in to macbook pro (it was completely off). Anyway, I unplugedd the external ssd from the MacBook Pro. I plugged in power to macbook shows 100% (which is sorta odd but i guess possible). I plugged the external ssd drive back in to macbook pro and it did NOT power up (NO CONNECTION). The external drive is just getting no power or connection from the macbook pro. On macbook pro, I went to settings /NETWORK / THUNDERBOLT / THUNDERBOLT BRIDGE settings in macbook and is noticed.......All my Thunderbolt Ports are status: NOT CONNECTED and INACTIVE under Brigde status. The ONLY thing i tried was i CLICKED ON " RENEW DHCP LEASE" (screenshot number 3) and nothing happened. I feel it had somethig to do with leaving the external ssd drive plugged in overnight w no power to the MacBook is my opinion. I have rebooted macbook numerous times. Its never given me any problems. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME PLEASE? Was working fine until i left ext ssd drive plugged in overnight. PLEASE HELP. - HUGE THANKS, RICHIE

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.15

You may have misinterpreted what the The network setting option is all about:

It sounds like you external HD/SSD has failed in some manner, but what does this have to do with reaching out to a different Network via a bridge?

From > (Option Key) System Information>Hardware>ThunderBolt here you see your Thunderbolt ports being recognized....

If it it is not a true Thundrbolt device and you are using a USBC to USB adapter then the external SSD is actually using USB, see Hardware>USB instead, for connected device.

I would reboot the mac as a first step—and test your external drive.

You can try a different cable, a different port if in doubt.

if no resolve you can try an mount the external drive using Disk Utility.app and running the First Aid feature:

I still need advice. ...........I have use thst usb-c ext ssd all the time. My macbook thunderbolt ports show all not connected / inactive all of a sudden and will not recognize or power on the ext drive. to me, somethng needs to be reset on the MacBook maybe? ....i dont know. ill try to plug in something else to my MacBook pro to see if its the drive itself but my setttings on macbook seem to tell me my thunderbolt ports are not connected / inactive. I will say my POWER cable does work. Thanks

i tried to plug in someting different than the ssd drive, so i plugged in my iPhone to the mac and it showed up so i thought well maybe its ok again.....I plugged back in the ext usb-c ssd drive again and i got the pop up warning again that says USB ACCESSORIES DISABLED - UNPLUG THE ACCESSORY USING TOO MUCH POWER TO RE-ENABLE USB DEVICES. .............the ext ssd is still not powering up (light came on briefly then off again). This is an expensive gliph ext raid ssd and pretty new. I never had this problem until i left it plugged in to laptop overnight w laptop unplugged from power. The MacBook is plugged into power so i dont understand why it would keep popping up USB ACCESSORIES DISABLED - UNPLUG THE ACCESSORY USING TOO MUCH POWER TO RE-ENABLE USB DEVICES everytime i plug in the ext ssd? My MacBook is NOT letting the ext ssd mount and is not powering it up (light comes on briefly on ssd then off_
