Why wouldn’t my Apple Watch series 3 pair with my iPhone X? Even after updating it.

How do I erase it
This is what I see. I never got my watch to pair.
It’ll say it’s pairing but after a long time it doesn’t
I brought it from Walmart. It’s an refurbished watch

From what is happening it sounds like the watch hasn't been unpaired properly from the last phone that it was paired too,I can only suggest that you take it back to Walmart because if it is still paired to another phone then it will never work with your phone until the activation locked is removed.
I did I was told that it wasn’t paired to another phone because if it was it wouldn’t have a different screen from the one I see when I turn it on

Is the watch brand new or did you buy it from somebody?.It might be paired to another phone.
