New update issue

same problem with my iphone 7 the camera works in normal applications in photo mode but freezes on instagram whatsapp etc,
and always failed every incoming video call
I'm sure this is a bug and I've sent feedback to Apple maybe you can do that so they can quickly find out about this

A new update is not going to fix a problem with the camera on your device. If you followed all of the steps in the support document, then you need to contact Apple Support.

Sounds like an Instagram issue and not you iPhone.

You have a very old device that may have failed for any number of reasons.

Ask Instagram for help.
