My iPhone repeatedly shows the prompt “share your WiFi password”. I don’t want it to nor did I ask it to. How do I stop this annoyance?

This is a feature of the newer iOS and will only work with devices that you are in Contacts with. See this about how it works, and maybe you can work backwards to make sure it doesn't work. There is no way to turn it off. You should only see this if you are near someone that has your Apple ID in their contacts and you are connected to a wi-fi network they are not connected to.
