if you by extend warranty mean apple care+ AppleCare Products - iPhone - Apple

then apple care+ has to be purchased before 60 days after you first purchase the iphone

it's not something you can purchase right before the normal warranty expires

questions forum, you are not addressing apple here just fellow users

but I think that mean you can't purchase apple care+ and need to put some money aside on a bank account to purchase a new apple product if the one you wished apple care+ for breaks.
