make image smaller in pages

I'm trying to make an image smaller in Pages so that I can use it in an infographic. The smallest size that Pages will let me insert is 3.06 inches wide, but the image in the box does not scale down; that is, I get a partial image instead of a scaled down full image.

I cannot resize an image in Pages less than 3.06" in width I cannot shrink an image in Pages smaller than 3.06" in width. It has happened with several different images, so I think it is Pages and not the images. Any help would be appreciated.

Pages can't reduce image size below a certain point I am attempting to import a jpg logo file for use in the return address portion of an envelope. The size of the image is 1.75" x .7". After importing into the Gallery, Pages ups the image to a minimum size of 3.45" x 1.39" and I can't make it any smaller.
