Hi, I previously only had 5GB iCloud storage. I had not backed photos up after this storage had ran out. I know have 12GB of photos. I purchased 50GB iCloud storage but photos are not syncing with the iCloud. I have left device plugged in to power connected to WiFi for several days but have had no luck.
I would leave it on a charger as much as possible. You can't overcharge it.

It could take a week or more to upload so much data.
