Best work-in sleeve/case for MB Pro 15"

Best work-in sleeve/case for MB Pro 15"

Hi my new Macbook Pro just arrived last Thursday and I was wondering what kind of sleeve or case I should get for it. It's the 15" model and I'm looking for a work-in sleeve/case that will also provide some protection against bumps and maybe even drops. I would also like it to have either some unique graphics/colour (like lime green for instance) or be customizable, if possible.

When I did some research I came across the Booq Vyper M3 (found at: http://www.booqbags.com/All-Products/Vyper-hard-laptop-cases/Vyper-M3-macbook-pr o-sleeve) case and I REALLY like the way it looks but unfortunately it's not a work-in sleeve. Anything that looks like that (or is made of ballistic nylon) and has straps inside to hold the laptop would be perfect! Thanks in advance for your replies =]

Nothing and everything is the best. It's all what you like. I use a Speck plastic case to protect the body and when I travel a Maccase does me well.

I would suggest one of the hard cases like the Speck ones the others here have mentioned if you plan on leaving it in the case while working. The soft cases will not provide air circulation under the MBP at all and may inhibit airflow from the vents behind the display hinge.

I also use Speck. I have a See Thru Hard Shell....Green one. It recently broke and is still under their 1 year warranty. They said send us an email with proof of purchase and a pic of the broken part. I did and within about 1 hour they are sending me a new replacement no charge. I love Speck customer service. No need to ship your old one back...That made me very happy! Only downer is they discontinued my favorite green color. Only 4 choices left. Oh well I am not gonna complain. 🙂

Chopper: The Huzzk sleeves don't appear to have any opening along their hinged edge to allow a MBP to draw cooling air in or blow heated air out. Most of the photos on their website don't show the back edge of the sleeve, but I found one that does, and it appears to be completely enclosed. I'd worry about the MBP overheating if used in such a sleeve.

Yeah I know I did worry too but my 13" MBP doesnt get very hot at all
You think I shud take it out then
I also worry about the black foam colouring the silver
What do u think is best?

If it's not getting hot, the sleeve is probably OK for the kind of work you're doing. If you start doing something more intensive and it does heat up significantly, get it out of the sleeve right away.

Ok thanks for your advice eew
I am thinking when soon to use it in clamshell mode with HDMI on LCD TV
So I will be leaving laptop in one position near TV
So I will be taking it out of sleeve then as I have heard MBP run hotter in clamshell mode???

Yes, it will need to be out of the sleeve when running in clamshell mode.
