I can't partition my internal disk

Hi there

I want to partition my internal disk as I want to resintall macOS and there is no disk to select.

Once I click on partition , the + sign is greyed out and cant do anything.

What should I do? Can I restore the internal disk?

Thanks

You may need to boot from a different disk to partition the internal disk.

Some actions on the boot disk are not allowed or are limited.
