Apple Watch tracking pool lengths

I have an apple watch series 3 which does not track the correct number of lengths when I swim. My husband has a series 2 and this seems to track the number of lengths correctly. I have tried to quit the app and restart the watch and there has been no improvement. Any help would be gratefully received.

Series 2 Watch not tracking laps I noticed that suddenly my apple watch (series 2) has stopped tracking laps in pool swims. It still tracks time and calories but no longer laps - which in reality is my main reason for owning the watch. No setting changes or upgrades that would explain the timing for it suddenly not working anymore. Nor can I locate any online resources for troubleshooting recommendations. Suggestions?
