3TB Fusion drive dead; replace drive/buy new iMac?

My iMac (27", November 2016) powered down overnight and I could not get it started again, it gets stuck at the "no entry" sign. I've tried all the repair/recovery options I could find but the 3TB Fusion Drive does not show up in disk utility.

What are my options? Should I replace the drive or dump the iMac? (there was a time my Macs lasted a heck of a lot longer than 3,5 years .... )?

If dumping is the verdict: considering I was unable to do a secure erase of the Fusion Drive ... can I assume that the drive can no longer be accessed at all (and the data on it is accessible to no one)?

Your compugter is worth getting fixed. When you do first take it to an independent Apple Authorized Service Provider and then ask them to replace the Fusion drive with a SSD. This change will make the computer faster and more reliable. The bottleneck and weak link in computers is using spinning HD's like a Fusion Drive does.

Thank you, BDAqua and rkaufmann87, for your replies. When business starts up again here (probably mid-may, now still in lockdown), I will check out the disk replacement.
