how do I rename my brand new magic keyboard in macos mojave?

I plugged it in with its cord and now it says it is connected and charging. I want to use a name to distinguish this one from any other that I may buy later. In Sys Pref, I control-clicked (right-clicked) Magic Keyboard and the only option was Remove.

Can't rename magic keyboard (Mojave) When I right click on the keyboard to rename it, the only menu choice I see is "remove," there is no "rename" choice. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Changing Apple Magic Keyboard name nor working Hi, I've a MacbookPro (Late 2013) wit MacOS Catalina and just bought a used Apple Magic Keyboard from a friend. I tried to change de keyboard name but it doesn't stick. It gets back to the old name every time. Already tried Factory Reset of the device, Factory reset of all connected devices and reset of BT module. Nothing works. How can I solve this issue? Thanks

Is it connected? I can only rename devices that are connected.
