Control iPad on the headrest from the front seat

Hi,

I have a life kind situation when kids are watching something on ipad on the back of the car and I would like to be able to control o steer the playout and possibly the apps to be able to help without getting this whole staff to front and back but just to allow me or better my wife in passenger seat to play/stop/etc

Any ideas how i can do that from iPhone preferably?
