Why does my camera make everything look blue?

i am having a bit of a nightmare with my brand new Mac desktop. everytime i go to use facetime, zoom or any other video chat my camera goes from a normal "warm" light into a very cold blue tint that is visible to other participants. I literally look like Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka. As someone who spends most of my day on video conferences, i am desperate for a solution and there doesn't seem to be a solution or in fact any options other than security for the camera in settings.

if it's helpful my catalina version is 10.15.4 and my screen is a Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB graphics
