i happened to drop and break the back side of my iPhone XS Max. I don’t want to get it repaired because I can use it with a back cover and works just fine. However, my phone is under warranty, so will Apple honour warranty repairs if something else goes wrong with the phone like screen dead, speaker issues, mic problem, etc.

Warranties cover manufacturing defects, not user inflicted damage.
But, if you have AppleCare+, you can get the phone replaced at a much lower cost.
Scratches and scuffs are just cosmetic and usually won't void the warranty.
Breaking the glass will. The back glass can not be repaired or replaced. The internals are glued to the back.
The phone will have to be replaced.
So damage to iPhone voids warranty? In that case scratches and scuffs should also void the manufacturers warranty? How is the word “damaged” defined at Apple?
