After installing Catalina my desktop cant find my mouse

After installing Catalina, my desktop Mac will not recognize my Apple trackpad. I have bluetooth. and I changed the batteries To be sure that wasn't the issue.. still nothing. All was working just fine before the upgrade installation.. :(. Any advice?

Try resetting the SMC.
