Using the Apple migration assistant to transfer data from an iPhone X to an iPhone 11 Pro--nothing seems to be happening after 2 hours. Is there a progress bar to indicate something is happening?
The issue turned out to be the iOS. The iPhone 10 was set for public beta and was one iteration ahead of the iPhone 11. That difference triggered an attempt to update the 11 and the two phones froze in the process.
I reset the iPhone 11 and transferred the data from and earlier iCloud backup. The most recent backup could not download because it had be backed up from the beta iOS on the 10.
I then connected with AT&T to activate the new phone, and all is well.
