How do I make my ipad accept the appleid on my desktop?

You are welcome. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Try a forced restart.

If necessary

Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.

I am trying to get into FaceTime on the iPad. It asks for my ID

I type in my email address, but when I type in my password it says 'Verification Failed There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server'

It should accept the ID. What happens when you try? Error message(s)? More information would help.
