I reset my phone some months ago, but I have the backup from before the reset on my Mac. I didn't install immediately from various reasons. I don't want to lose the pictures and texts that I've accumulated over the last few months. Is there a way I can install the backup from last summer that is on my Mac onto my phone without losing all the new data I've acquired since the reset?

Unfortunately not.

Then you can restore the phone from your backup. And then sync the photos you uploaded to your phone using iTunes sync after the restore.

No there is not, it is all or nothing.
You will need to acquire third party software for your computer that can read the backup and remove files from it.
It there a way I can sort through the information that was backed up? Pictures, texts, and the like?
