Garageband on IPad Pro

Is it possible to create split screen with Garageband and another app on my iPad Pro? With Garageband open I’ve managed to open another app in ‘slide over’ view but I can’t seem to create split screen - I need to see the 2nd app on 50% of the screen or greater.

Vertical Top Bottom? In Vertical mode, can the split screen have one app on top, and one app on the bottom?
