Using my dad’s iPhone Because my previous phone broke. I updated this phone by editing my dad’s Apple id with mine. However, for updating the apps in the App Store, it requires my dad’s password, despite having my Apple id. It’s so cumbersome and irritating that i cant use my Apple ID despite signing in with my id. Also the this phone is synced with i pad. I want to remove that sync!

iPhone 7, iOS 13

Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.

Purchase History Review.

Or you can try to set up Family Sharing to keep access to the purchases.

You might consider asking your dad to do the steps in the article below to make it 'your' phone.

To Fix This...

Contact Apple Support.  When calling, request to speak with then Apple Store Staff.  Ask Apple if they will allow you to reassigned this iPhone back to your Father's Apple Account. If that is not an option, then you'd have to wait 90 days to do so. That's just the way it is :(

Phone Support Info:

-------

And Based on the above...

  • Apple ID Association is 90 Days:

If you have removed your father's Apple ID, and now your's is associated to it, then you would have to wait 90 days until it can be associated to another account(your father's). Pain though it is :(

  • Apple Accounts Can't be Merges:

As of this date, Apple Accounts cannot be merged. So, that would mean that you need to delete the apps on the home screen, as they are not accessible to your Apple Account. Having been associated to your Apple Account, these are all now useless and inaccessible to your Apple Account. So, rid of them. Hold you thumb down, and then click of the "X" to rid of the App.

  • Device Desynchronization:

You have associated this iPhone with your Apple Account, and being that your iPad is associated to the same account, iCloud is making these sync together. So, to desynchronize these, turn off syncing through the iCloud settings on your iPad:

On the iPad:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: iCloud
  3. Swipe: everything to off
