I have an iphone 8 and an apple watch 2. When trying to add a playlist to my watch, it only adds just a few songs. I want to be able to use my watch, without my phone, when exercising and when paired to my earphones. I can pair my Jabra earphones just fine with my watch. Its just not adding all my music.

Check the settings on your Apple Watch. Do you have enough room for the playlist? When you add this playlist, are you doing it from the Watch app on the iPhone? It can take some time to sync. I'm guessing that you have waited a while for it to sync?
I do have enough room and I'm adding it from the watch app. I do remember that it takes quite a while to add. Just now, I deleted the only playlist and then added another just in case the first one was too big. It only added 5 songs. The playlist had 40 songs on it. My usage says I have 2.4 GB unused.
Yes, my watch is on the charger. Does my phone need to be on the charger?
