I received today the new Iphone se(2020) that I purchased online at target as a present for my son. It came with a Verizon sim card in it. Is this normal? Does this means is used? Should I worry about it? My son is a minor. TIA

No, is a factory unlock iphone. We have cricket. I switch the old sim card my son used to have on his old iphone. The iPhone is activated and working and I was just wondering why it came with a sim card? Target didn't even asked me what company I had. To me it looks like a return phone. Thanks for your response.

No. It's not. Target does not sell unlocked iPhones. The only place you can buy a new unlocked iPhone in the US is directly from Apple.
The phone is carrier locked, or at best, will lock to the carrier you use to activate it.

It means it is locked to Verizon and will only work on Verizon network.
Only Apple stores sell unlocked phones.
Call AppleCare and give them the serial number.
Dollars to donuts those phone will lock to the first carrier used to activate them.
