Iphone problems

My iPhone X is not responsive. It is powered on and halfway charged but it will not respond to touching the screen or hitting any buttons. The screen only lights up when I plug it in until that fades back away. What do I do?

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support ⬅︎ try this...

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
