Monitor constantly charging my 2017 MacBook Pro.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Dell U2419HC monitor to increase my productivity.

The U2419HC uses a thunderbolt (type c look alike) cable to connect my MacBook Pro to the monitor. It's good that it only requires a single cable and it also can charge my MacBook Pro.

However, it continues to charge my MacBook Pro even when it has reached 100%.

Im not sure if constantly charging your laptop is good. Some online reviewers and tech specialists said that the MacBook Pro has capabilities to redirect the current away from the battery when it has reached 100%. So charging it is not issue.

Is that true or I should not keep it constantly plugged to the monitor when the battery is at 100%

Hope to hear your thoughts on this soon :)

Thank you and hope everyone is doing well.

Your computer will not overcharge nor will your battery. I leave my computer plugged in whenever convenient to do so.
