I used to be able to do so, but today when I tried to do the same thing, it automatically jumped to another app to open it for me. I hate that. How could I open txt documents in Files again?

Is the specific document that you're trying to open in Files, one that you've open with Files before? Have you made any recent changes to your device? Which version of software are you using?

I opened it with quicklook manually just now and it automatically solved the problem. Now quicklook is my default way to open txt documents. Thanks!
